So, I got bored and read the manga.... and... this is basically the pace for the rest of the show. Very safe anime.

Someone in the comment section said the novel was the same so the translaters had to pass lot of moments (like *blablablabla* instead of *woooow so good*...) where they only eat some Earth food. (since they do it so often and it becomes boring)

well MAPPA main focus this season is Vinland Saga...wouldnt be surprise they made this as side project...feels like it might not get any season 2 anytime soon if the plot is we're just seeing Fenrir droolling all over foods

Yeah. This is another example of the writers being dumb for no reason. If dude is asking around for a map and its common knowledge that you can get one from specific places then clearly someone would have said something to him. Unlikely that everyone is going to be an Ahole. Hes likely to run into at least one person that would have mentioned it... like the dude at the bookstore.

Ah yes, always blame the writers and not your lack of comprehension. The guy was just summoned to an unfamiliar world and you expect him to already know the logic of that world?... Any normal person living in the modern era would normally visit the bookstore and library if they want to look for a map. It's common sense ingrained to any person in this world and he's following it. He just happened to pass by a pub and tried to look for someone who might help him to get a map as well as gather information. Our protagonist here is a 27yr old salaryman and not someone like kazuma.

Well, the writers are the guys that decide how the story is written and how the world logic works. So yeah.

Whenever I look at story logic for basic stuff I always do two things:
1) Put myself in that place. What would I do in this situation? Granted sometimes MCs are supposed to be idiots, so its expected of them to be idiots. In this case hes just a random dude. Generally no idiocy? Maybe.
2) Look at the logic of the story world. Does everything make sense internally to the story world? This is where plot holes and other logic contradictions often show up. Goblinslayer for example was terrible for internal logic consistency.

In this particular example the MC is not a complete moron, however he is pretty lazy. I'm fairly lazy myself, but I've also travelled a lot and I'm not a child so I understand what is needed to be able to effectively travel and explore new places. Primarily: effective communication and the willingness to ask questions.

If I was a dude following him around I would have probably asked the guys at the first town in the adventurer's guild about a map since I was already interacting with them, but failing that once I got to the other town I could have asked a guard, an innkeeper, a barkeeper, or maybe I might have gone by the merchant's guild or adventurer's guild.

I wouldn't have gone to a library or bookstore since I've travelled a lot and those are the last places anyone that has done any travelling would go to find maps. Unless you just want a useless world map I suppose. I also definitely wouldn't have gone to one solitary store and then given up. Its clear to me that since you think people would go to one of those two places for a map that you've done zero travelling without a smartphone/gps.

I suppose its possible that the MC, like you, has no real life experience doing anything other than sitting at work or in his apartment and so he would be lost and confused. Perhaps this is the normal reaction most people would have.

Anyways... there are many issues with the way the whole thing played out which seems to have escaped you, but no one wants to read a dissertation about this one interaction so I'll just stop here.

He wants to avoid unwanted attention. Ironic, since he is with a Fenrir, but he is passing it off as a "lucky contract" with a Great Wolf. They already shown in a previous episode that simple salt and pepper that costed him a few copper can net him 20 gold pieces. He also said that he wants to avoid doing that in the future as it would draw unwanted attention (you know, capture and torture the merchant to get the goods type of deal).

Also, if you lost about $1000 when something was worth $10, would you complain too, even if you know you can get that money back easily? I would.

honestly i wouldnt be mad if i was in another world with the ability to have infinite money, why be sad when all i need to get 20 times that amount is sell little salt.

You'll be a bit irritated too if you were ripped off. Also, Fenrir might be strong, but if information gets out that mc has the ability to create a ton of money, wouldn't they just gang up on him? Remember that Fen isn't the strongest being in that world and MC is still unfamiliar with the power scaling.

this mc is the reason why i want to quit this anime, they made the main character too stupid. he literally can farm gold like crazy, gets mad for 1 gold coin he lost for being an idiot, he refuses to give fenrir good meat because, because, because, there is no because its just a stupid character and there is no reason, NO FUCKING REASON why he would never give him that meat again.

In fact there was an opposite - a scene with focused on a cardboard box full of plastic containers that he just put between two stones and just went to sleep (last episode i think), and then it wasn't seen ever again... If they went out of their way to put the attention on it, and then just left it there... Well either they forgot, or he's really leaving it there lol. Or they just did that scene randomly and the manga never cares to elaborate.

The wagyu is probably because it buffs him too much and he doesn't want to be too famous (hence the name "great wolf and not Fenrir") or the kingdom which summoned him would want him back to support the heroes. (and their army too, since all the food give stats buff and a kingdom would have the money to spend so much on Earth food just to get a stronger army)

The novel-manga-anime is more like "daily lifestyle", meaning he is just on a trip all around the world, like traveling, not a hero on a mission to kill the Demon King ! (just that he got a mystical Fenrir as a pet)

With all the monsters he sold (and will, thanks to Fenrir), he already is rich, just that until he found a place to stay forever, it is not needed yet. (he is camping most of the time so no need for a house yet and got nearly nothing to pay for, except Earth goods&food)

That character is the most realistic ! (he doesn't have a mission in that world, just survive and enjoy everyday -which he does despite crying every second)

Maybe it is because you saw too much Isekai where, conveniently, the world is in the stone age, enough for the Isekai-ed character to make a company/restaurant with his great knowledge or even a country ! (given he isn't the only isekai-ed, his knowledge is probably already known all over the world, which happens in some Isekai manga, so they can't have a genius idea from Earth making them rich)

Plus most of the time, they got knowledge of Earth things, not how they are made (you can use a smartphone and not know how to make it, same for beauty/bath products or most like, everything until you put some time to get knowledge -not able to do it just know how) but they somehow can reproduce those for no reasons.

They talk about how tasty it is and go on about flavors and just make a bright drawing but food kind of needs to be real to say it's good and also you can't relate with flavor if your not eating it so I always think these food shows kind of feel like nonsense.
